If everyone stopped eating beef (which can graze on land that cannot be cultivated without irrigation), we'd have to eat 2-4x more volume of legumes and vegetables to get adequate protein. Planting, fertilizing (50% of nitrogen in fertilizer comes from petroleum), irrigating and harvesting would have significant environmental impacts that these "scientists" haven't taken into account.

Maybe we could get someone to do a calculation about the environmental effect (in terms of "equivalent to ### of cars taken off the road) if everyone in the U.S. stopping eating grains!

Another thing they don't factor because they don't have a clue is that wild animals eat all of the cow poop although some does fertilize the ground/grasses. It feeds Birds, coyote, racoon, fox, possums, wild hogs, bugs etc...

That is the most disturbing part of the vegan sell. Their assumption that taking out half of the life cycle of a whole planet can be done. By us. Now.

Then lets take out the human factor.

There has been a quiet but thriving movement to integrated growing practices. Permaculture. Its about creating a beneficial mix of plants to host bwnefical bugs, improve soils, and have decent production.

We noticed this year very few tomato horn worms. AND ea h on we find, about 6, are fully adorned by white wasp eggs making a coat. We leave these alone. This wasp is controlling the tomato horn worm so I dont have to. I did save one to make sure there will be food for the wasps next year.

Another producer grows trees to harvest for wood and runs cattle thru to mow between trees. Otherwuse lots of time and money running a mower.

Another person uses ducks, around their nut trees. Controls vegetation, leaves fertilizer and removes pests.

I watched a show the other day that showed snakes waiting at the base of trees for the Cicadas to fall down. They also control the rodent population.
But.........I don't like poisonous snakes.
