Question Hypothyroidism and hair loss

Hello everyone.

Was wondering about my fellow hypo's, and hair loss. Ive been losing hair like you wouldnt believe since May. Has anyone else experienced a slow down or a stop completely with it when they went on TSP? Ive been doing this for about 4 weeks now. I know I feel better. And could anyone share their TSH when going on this plan with me? Thanks in advance.

Stephanie

When I started PP I was unaware that I was hypothyroid. After the tiredness and dragging-continued weight gain didn't get better I went to the doctor. My TSH was 16.03 in May 13th. I am due to have some labs done soon. My hair loss is just now getting better, energy also. Still no noticeable weight loss. But I am keeping faith that when my thyroid is in order it'll happen.

I, too, have been diagnosed hyperthyroid and have gone quite a round on getting the meds right...started going almost hyper. I took the plunge and went off my meds....I don't feel any worse! I am having quite a time giving up the sugar and finding the time to get enough veggies in there...

I noticed hair loss a while ago...still having some but I don't think it's as bad. I don't know that it's from the hypothyroidism, especially after reading TSP. Could be I have suffered from insulin resistance instead....I also ready evening primrose oil is good to jump start hair again, but I have to really watch the EFA's and other oils...I get that "hot" feeling...need to watch soy as well if you're hypo.. a no- no. Can make it worse. Good luck!
