Default Hi

I am excited to join this forum! I have been low carbing for a long time. I have lost a good amount of weight but it seems that just eating very low carb is not enough for me to get this weight off. I have now started intermittent fasting. I have found Dr. Jason Fung to be very helpful and I am hoping to get the rest of my excess weight off for good.

Welcome to the forum. I lost well with simply doing low carb for much of my journey, but my weight loss started to plateau long before reaching goal. I credit adding IFs and doing my best to eliminate snacking between meals (which was more habit than hunger) with helping me get to where I wanted to go. Support from other LCers here certainly helped, too. I wish you the best in reaching your goals. You are working your WOE, trying to figure out what works for you. That's how you do it.

Welcome to a very good group of helpful, friendly people. And may I direct you to our Dr. Fung Thread? We've been using his protocol for a few years now in combination with our LC eating plans.

Enjoy.

Welcome to the BEST LC website on the planet, Annabel Le!

Huge congrats on your journey so far!

I've been doing IF since July 2013 and I love it! It takes care of all my food related issues, like overeating, etc etc...

Wishing you continued success on your journey!

Thank you kindly!
I am always happy to know that others have found their way to IF too!
Snacking is something I have learned is not good for me.
It seems like everyone is eating six times or more a day. When I was little we did not snack. My mom was convinced that if we snacked we would spoil our appetites and not eat the healthy meals. We stayed slinder and healthy.

Thank you for the warm welcome!
I have found that IF makes staying LC much easer.
I love that on fasting days I don't have to worry about what I am going to eat that day.

Oh I don't do "Fasting Days" as such, I do a 23:1 Fast meaning I only eat one time a day, as late in the day as possible...

And I only gave up one meal (lunch) when I started... I haven't been a breakfast eater since around mid school.

As funny as this sounds, this really describes my relationship with food/eating:

I suffer from a chronic illness called “I’m only hungry when I start putting FOOD in my mouth” syndrome.

Me too!
The more I eat the hunger I get!
Low carb/high fat helps but fasting really helps me to feel full and satisfied when I do eat.
