boy I tell you I am tasting those squares but I can't seem to get all the ingredients together.

Karen, where do you get the carmel extract I looked at both our SOF's and safeway but they had lots of others but not carmel. If I still can't find it do you think using the brown sugar twin would work as a replacement. Or could you cook down a bit of oscars carmel soda syrup??? I am a pest!

I made the maple walnut cookies and was oh so happy.

Now I am planning to make the squares, but could not find the caramel extract. I picked up butterscotch extract so plan on using that. I am also using the brown sugar twin.

What do you think, should that work okay?

Default thank you Karen!!!

Well I made the squares, without the carmel or butterscotch extract never found it. But OMG... Had to put them in the freezer so I wouldn't eat them before Xmas.

Thanks Karen a great recipe and great squares... Can't wait for your book.

The ones with the butterscotch turned out very good, but I found the extract a bit harsh, alcohol tasting. Could be the extract I have, but might try it without it next time. Overall, very good recipe.

Exclamation Did someone say LC Bailey's??

<---- that's me... very excited!

One of the things my boyfriend and I miss most since I adopted this WOL, is being able to sit down together in front of the fire and sip a nice glass of Bailey's. I find that the spike in weight afterwards is too high a price to pay.

That being said... is there a recipe somewhere? I did a search by keyword, but it brought up a zillion posts.

Thanks so much, and Karen, I LOVE your recipes! I host a rotating "Girl's Night" for some of my friends, and they marvel at your dishes.

Aria~

Hi Aria and thanks!

The Bailey's was something I threw together for the class to enjoy. It was a last minute thing so there is no recipe. But, there is a recipe on this site for it here:

Woo hoo!

Now... to practice some restraint!

Thanks so much. Too bad I am so far east, it would be great to attend your classes.

I am just resurecting this thread as the two recipes at the start are holiday traditions for me. I freeze them and nibble away through Jan/Feb.

This year I actually have caramel flavoring, not just butterscotch.

Thanks again Karen..
