Default HBP is now close to normal range

I know I haven't reached my goal weight yet, but I wanted to share a mini success with everyone. For years I have been struggling with high blood pressure. My bp was 190/110. Medications helped minimally and only got my pressure down to 160/100. Plus the medication made me throw up all the time and have painful migraines, so I just stopped taking them. Eventually, my blood pressure returned to its insanely high levels again. I felt tired, weak and out of breath all the time. I decided to try atkins because I knew it had helped some people with blood pressure.

Well, a week ago I went on atkins induction and really stuck to it this time and have lost 8 pounds so far. Today at the doctor's office I found out, that only after a WEEK of atkins, my bp is 130/85 (without meds). I couldn't believe it. I knew I felt better and had more energy, but I had no idea how dramatic my blood pressure would improved in such a short period of time!! YAY!! I figure at this rate, my bp should be normal by next week.

Holy crow!

I bet you spent all week in the bathroom.

Congratulations! Weight loss is nice, but curing chronic health problems is even nicer.

That's great, Mia-Chloe! I've had good results BP-wise, with LC, and am now completely off meds for it.

Best of luck with your journey toward "normal",

Kay

Talking Way to go Mia!

Since last year (when I started reading DANDR) I have been telling people I know who have bp and diabetes, etc. issues that if they try it, they have nothing to lose but health problems.

You are proof of that!

I bet you are feeling like a million bucks
