Question Beginner with a few questions!

Hi all, I have been advised by a fitness trainer to try a low-carb diet to shift the flab. So even though he's gone through the list of foods I should be eating, I still have a few questions! I have bought loads of chicken, turkey, cooked meats, fish, broccoli, spinach, grean salad, cheese and eggs but am struggling to think of a varied menu for me and my husband (not dieting but will eat anything!) to enjoy. So,

1. Does anyone have any decent recipes for slow-cooker meals?
2. Is soft cheese (particularly Phili and brie), OK to eat?
3. With the veg thing, are courgettes, beansprouts, ginger OK?
4. What the flaming heck can I use for sauces on stir frys?

Thanks, MumTum

Hi MumTum, and welcome.

1. Here is a thread with loads of slow cooker recipes: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=219464

2. Whether or not soft cheeses are okay to eat depends largely on the plan you are following. If your trainer hasn't given you any more guidance than "low carb" you might find it helpful to follow a written plan such as Atkins, Protein Power, Barry Groves (from the UK ) etc. If you click on Plans on the green bar at the top of the page, you will find summaries of some of the more well known plans.
Having said that, most cheese is okay carb wise. Just read those labels.

3. Yes.

4. Check our recipe forums here: http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=2

Oh thanks Rosebud! Been sticking to the plan (not as strictly as I had been doing tho!) and lost 7lbs already. I will have a look at the recipes, they may help to keep me on track :-)

I though beanspouts were not okay? Along with other seeds and beans? Willing to be corrected though!

Bean sprouts are in the DANDR induction list, in the "other vegetable" list that we can have 1 cup of.
But be sure you only eat the sprouts, not the actual beans.
