Cool what food have carbs in them

To anyone out there, I am looking for a web page that lists all the different kinds of carbohydrates. I do not know exactly what foods can and cannot be eatin. With my being the manager of a pizzaria I am surrounded by food. all i need is a little help to find out about what foods or food groups to avoid.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Welcome aboard Poncho,

Which plan are you following? Low-carb plans can differ in terms of what amount of carbs are allowed and how. If you haven't read any book on the topic, borrow one from your public library, they are essential to doing it right and avoiding common beginners mistakes.

This link is great for finding carb counts in most foods:

Default foods to avoid

Hi, Poncho, welcome!

As Wa'il says, it's best to start with a book. Atkins or the Eades' "Protein Power" are what most of us use, but other plans are out there. One or more of these books will give you the basics.

In general, foods to avoid or strictly limit are:
-sugar, honey, and other sweetners (except for no-calorie artificial sweetners such as Equal or Splenda)
-rice, flour, and other grains
-most beans (green beans are OK, soybeans are OK in limited quantities)
-most fruits (small quantities might be OK, depending on which plan you're on)
-starchy or sweet vegetables such as potatoes, winter squash, beets, carrots, etc.

Generally, what's OK to eat:
-meat, fish, poultry
-eggs, cream (not milk), cheese
-green leafy vegetables
-other non-starchy vegetables such as cauliflour, radishes, celery, brocolli, eggplant, etc.

Hope this starts you off, but there's no substitute for research!

Rachel

Poncho,

Refer the list provided at the Atkin's Diet website. That should be very helpful.
