Default Lexapro -- new depression med

Hi all --

Like many of you I gained quite a bit if weight on Paxil and Prozac. I took myself off Paxil in August -- this was not a good move in any number of ways, but it did eventuate a prescription to a new (VERY new!) medication called Lexapro. This new med is not supposed to have many of the side effects that bedevil users of the SSRIs, including weight gain and loss of libido.

In the several weeks that I have used it I am doing =much= better emotionally. That's another good things about this medication -- it begins working in a weeks time, not in a month. In any event, it is too soon to tell if the medication has any effect on my weight, but I will keep you updated.

So if you are having trouble with one of the traditional SSRIs you may want to ask your Dr. about Lexapro. (And BTW, even though this sounds like a commercial, I don't work for the company that makes the drug! I'm a computer geek, really!)

Default depression

Hi

I don't know about ADHD -- in fact I'm not even sure what it is! I have depression and anxiety, and it has worked for me --

good luck -- Robert, North Jersey Highlands

Default Hi again

ADHD - Is Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.
I used to be on Ridalin when I was younger. I also have an anxiety tale, which means my ADHD affects my anxiety and my anxiety affects my ADHD... makes things worse. I'm doing actually ok, I have had years of anxiety training now if I can just get training to help me focus for work!

Good luck with you too - Kassie, Manchester NH
