I really want to read first-hand some of the studies that Atkins and others cite as supporting low-carb dieting, but I can't seem to find the actual studies published anywhere. For instance, I would really like to read the studies done by Kekwick and Pawan that Atkins says influenced him tremendously when he was developing his plan, but they are no where to be found. Atkinscenter.com only gives you abstracts of the studies, and the journals that the studies are printed in don't go back far enough.
Is there any source that I can use that would have the full studies published as opposed to just abstracts or summaries by third parties?
You could try your local library's resource center, or better yet a University library. Some old articles might be available on microfilm. They may charge a small fee for searches or for borrowing materials, but would be worth it in the long run.
You are welcome! I am glad you benefited from it. It is truly a labor of love, but I have some difficulty in keeping the updates on top of my priority list. I try to keep it updated at least once a month, so check back occasionally. To see the updates, just click on the "What's New" hyperlink.
Thank you for the complement on my book. I appreciate it.
