Ang – thanks for the encouragement! Good job on a good eating day and resisting the candy!

Kit – thanks, I am very close to 50 lbs lost. We can lean on each other. Maybe we should jump in the lake together?

CaCO – hopefully your son has learned a few things. Sorry about the breakup, but yay for a date this weekend!

I’m still bouncing around this same weight. This week, I wore a new to me blouse and scarf my sister had gotten some time ago at a thrift store. It was bright yellow and I wasn’t sure that color is for me. Anyway, at work, about a dozen of us (our team) were gathering for a meeting. And just before it started, one of my teammates said, “sosumi, you look beautiful!” Wow, made my day! And I guess yellow works for me!

Happy Friday All!

Whoops! Yup, earned every bit of that. I was really off plan yesterday. Oh well, thankfully this is a new day!

Softball practice went well last night! I have a talented group of girls, which for rec ball...well it's always a crap shoot. I've also lined up a group pitching lesson for Saturday with a college committed pitcher, so I'm really looking forward to that!

Ang, happy to hear you are in a place with people who respect you. Must be a nice change!

Kit, hows your cat?

Sosu...where are you woman?

Heidi....what's shaking in your world?

The gain is still from "that day". I've been good since then. A few too many low carb treats but desperate times call for desperate measures.
My foot HURTS! This is SO EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I have done this foot-pain-dance for the last 5 years minus last year. What do I do? I feel lazy when I keep sitting down or just don't want to walk down the hall to visit the workroom because I know it will be painful. My classroom needs decorating but it hurts.

Y'all Have a great weekend!

Sosumi - How sweet that you got that great compliment.

Ang - I'm so sorry that your foot is causing so much pain. I sure hope it gets better soon. I feel certain it will eventually. Use it as another motivator to stick to plan.

CaCO - My kitty is doing well so far. Seems to be back to normal.

I was completely out of control yesterday. Work and family frustrations and last supper syndrome, etc. I'm trying to use the weekend to get it back together. Off to a slow start so far. I know I need to clean house and it will make me feel better but it is so hard to get motivated but I'm off to get started.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Ugh, softball is kicking my butt! I had three girls have to take a seat in the dugout during practice. The heat is NO JOKE!

Anyone up for a challenge? A be perfectly on plan challenge? I’m thinking something small at first, maybe 7 days? What do you guys think? I’ve got to stop the cheating and rationalizing!

Caco, yes, I am in for a challenge. It seems we are all struggling, at least I know I am. Shall we start on Monday?

7 days perfectly on plan challenge starting Monday.

Anyone else in?

Yes - I think I’m up for the challenge as well. I did well yesterday with 27 net carbs and hope to do well again today. Then our challenge should help to keep me going. Today’s a good day to prep and get the shopping done to support us for the week. I’m hoping to make my yummy deviled eggs today to help get me through the week. (I put homemade bacon bits, red onion and hot sauce in them. )

Ang - You sound a bit frustrated due to lack of exercise from your foot pain. Have you thought about using a stationary bike or rowing machine for 20 to 30 minutes a day to see if it impacts your foot and makes you feel better? When I had a minor broken my foot (it was on the top at the base of my big toe) I did chair aerobics I found on YouTube that made me feel better. I know anything will be tough to get started on now that school is back in session but thought I’d throw it out there in case you like the idea.

Yup! Challenge starts today! My plan is below 20 net carbs, and I need to stick with that! Between me not eating on plan, and the wicked softball that makes every cell in my body hurt (but I still love helping the kids), here is where I am starting at:

8/19 = 235.6

How did I let it get this far??? Not good!

I don’t need to plan for onederland, which seems sooo far away, I need to plan to be on plan, that’s all I need to do.

Wishing everyone else luck!

Ok! Let's do this! Net carbs below 20 for 7 days. (That is my target also.)

Hmmm - not crazy about that weight after two good days but I guess that shows how far off the rails I was before. I am not feeling great this morning either. Low carb flu maybe. But I am ready to start the challenge. I’m going to stick with 30 net carbs.

Sosumi - I’m curious, would you say you were below 20 net carbs for most of your weight loss or did you climb the carb ladder at all?

8/20 = 235.6

I did it, I behaved! There is some confusion on how many carbs I had though. The Atkins app has identical listings with different amounts for carbs. Also, I don’t weight out how much no sugar added ketchup I used. Was it one or two tsp? The point is I was definitely super close to 20 or under.

So I believe that’s mission accomplished on that one :-)

Hmm, the only things i ate that I shouldn't have were a few dried cherries in my salad at lunch. I had forgotten about a lunch planned with a friend. We walked to a wonderful restaurant near work and ate outside on their patio. It was a glorious day. My salad had olives, feta, fresh strawberries, almonds, and dried cherries.

I am calling the day a win. I had a total of 35 carbs, but 6 of them were in salad greens, cucumbers, and olives. These are good carbs.

I made it through my first day of challenge too. Rewarded with a nice little drop. Net carbs = 26. That included a lot of fiber cause I had a couple of small Mission Carb Control tortillas for lunch. Looks like they’re ok for now.

Good job Caco and Sosum! Good luck today!

I did well again today. This challenge is working for me! Still unclear on how many carbs but for sure low. I was a bit worried when my morning routine was interrupted with my 10 year old saying she couldn’t put her shirt on for school because it hurt her ear to lift her arm....yeah she has a special disposition, lol!

Thankfully the local Walgreens has one of those Doc in a box places and I was able to reserve the 8:30 am a lot at 6:45am this morning. But that meant I was out of my routine but I stayed the course and just grabbed an Atkins shake.

It was a swimmers ear infection thing, so I’m glad I took her. She then stayed home with my mom and I got to work at 10am. I rather enjoyed my 6 hour work day, lol!!! Hopefully my weight will gove up the ghost tomorrow during weigh in. Two well behaved days has to be worth a couple of 0.1 pounds right???
