Arrow Back after a decade. Did I miss anything?

Haha! Hey all you fine people! I know I posted at least once in TDC a lonnnnnng time ago and well, now it's time to come back and say hey, I'm fat again in that spectacularly fat way I'm really good at becoming and I'm pretty darn ready to lose some poundage with folk who are in the same boat as I am.

Beginnings are always such a delicate, scary time. As far as weight loss goals go, seeing triple digits at the outset can be disheartening...but hey, it's not the first time I've been in this situation and at least I know that low carbing always works for me, so it's only a matter of time -- a year at most -- before those triples go into doubles.

I hope to get to know you guys real well over the coming days. Just wanted to check in with you all at the outset!

Welcome back.

I am back after about a year or so absence and a total regain of 75lbs. Slowly figuring my way around again.

Never totally went off plan but too much protein and carbs via veggies and "treats" wasn't working for me. Odd eh? lol

Haha. Those occasional 'treats' can really sneak up on you, especially when you've lost the LC groove. It's so easy to get in "Don't Care"-land when life happens.

And it is tough to come back after the weight has come back -- every day now I've been dealing with that feeling of "Oh god not this all over again" and try to hang on to that positive feeling of 'Yes, I can do this!" even when knowing it'll take me two years to lose it all.

But it helps to remember that, hell, I've already let ten years pass since I last really tried. A couple more years seem really trifling in comparison.

We can do this.

You're right. You CAN do this and good for you for coming back. I'm really discouraged right now too, so it's good for me to read of others who are trying to regroup. Looking forward to seeing you around here.

Yes, you can do this. I tell myself, I've done it before...I can do it again. And this time I know it's easier to stick with it then it is to restart...again...again...again...

And it's always just ourselves to blame, isn't that the worst? I mean, there's just no way I could ever say "WELP, THE DIET DIDN'T WORK, ATKINS TOTALLY WAS A FAILURE FOR ME" because never once did low-carb fail me when I was true to the plan.

It does, however, introduce a refreshing sense of reality and self-accountability into the whole mix. It's up to us! We make or break ourselves, and we can be totally new and improved people in just a year, and all it takes is only a few hundred baby steps to get there.

It doesn't feel so daunting when we just take each day as it comes. Can we be good tomorrow? I'm inclined to say we can.

I'm back too....head hanging in shame. I've managed to gain a lot of my weight back too....UGH UGH UGH. I'm so angry at myself for allowing all that hard work go to waste.

Ok, enough pity-party....Back at it!

Me too! After losing 45 lbs. in 2005, regaining and losing 20 lbs. each in 2008 and 2010, I'm also slinking back.

My main focus this time is health. I know my body does not process carbs well (bloating, gas pains, other stomach issues..). I'm only planning to weigh in every other week so I'm focused on eating well, not on a number on the scale. I restarted on 1/2/14 and so far, have had no stomach problems and my reflux is gone.

Glad to have company on the journey!

Yup you guys, you can totally do it!

Funny how it is -- when you get back on the plan, you feel so much better and you wonder how you even let yourself stop!

Had some FIERCE FIERCE sugar/junk food cravings yesterday. Considering there's another person in the house who continues to pad her beachball shape with all the junk food she brings into the house, the only thing that stopped me was, well, sheer willpower and thinking of where the cheaty road ultimately leads to...and I'm far down enough in that hole already to not really want to make it any deeper.

So another day down. Maybe I can make another small success story tomorrow too.
