Default Willow's Workout Log

Well, I seem to be holding myself accountable for my posting on this forum and so I decided to create my workout log so I can start filling it up. I was driving to work this morning, telling myself that I need to start working out. I wanted to begin P90X but I'm just not there yet to begin that program. I keep saying I will go to my storage unit and find the box that has my workout DVDs but I know I'm not going to find that box in that mess right now. So, I've had my gym membership on freeze for a few months...well tomorrow morning, it comes off freeze and I'm going to begin working out before work. And oh yeah, it's going to be an early, early morning workout. I plan to be at the gym no later than 5am and workout for 30 minutes (for starters) and then shower and head off to work for 7am. I'm going to hit just cardio for 2 weeks to get back in a routine and then incorporate and alternate weight training and cardio. I will post my progress, stats, etc and keep myself accountable by knowing I have to post here daily. So tomorrow morning is the start. 4/15/2008...funny that's its tax day

25 minutes on the Elliptical Trainer

I was only going to do 10 minutes, then pushed myself to 15 and while listening to my Ipod, I was at 20 minutes so I decided to go all the way to 25. I feel really great and I'm so glad I got my butt out of bed at 4:20am..yes...4:20AM to head to the gym.

25 minutes of Ellipitcal Trainer

I slept so soundly last night, getting up this morning at 4:15am was not so bad. And the workout time really flew by, I didn't get to the abs part today, I was worried I would be late for work..so I will do them with tomorrow's workout.

25 minutes of Elliptical Trainer

Back to the gym this morning...oddly enough, it hasn't been that hard getting up at 4:15am and going to the gym. I really thought I would make some excuse and just roll over but I haven't. So, I'm a bit proud of myself for sticking with it all week. Yesterday, I was sore and really didn't sleep well, so I would have been no good and I'm allowing myself a rest day, so I took it. So tomorrow, I'm going to the Chino LA Fitness (it's closer to the house) to do Aqua Aerobics...I don't care what anyone says, an hour of that class is tough.

I'm going to change up my elliptical trainer workout next week and do the intervals and most likely extend my time to 30 minutes.

20 minutes of elliptical trainer...only did 20 because I didn't leave the house until 5:05am. Due to the tradeshow I was attending all last week, I didn't make it to the gym in the morning from Tuesday onward...I was exhausted every morning...plus I had my cycle. But I'm back as of this morning.

33 minutes of intervals on the elliptical trainer...I'm sticking with cardio this week because I only worked out 2 days last week due to the tradeshow I was attending. But I'm going to do the interval mode all week to hopefully see some results before beginning weight training next week. On a workout note, I'm wearing a pair of pants that up until a week or so ago, they were still really a little tight, now they are comfortable to wear. I really need to take my measurements, I keep forgetting, I know the scale may not have moved this week, but I can tell I'm losing inches just by the way my clothes are fitting.

33 minutes intervals elliptical trainer

I'm looking forward to starting my weight training again and I'm proud to say I dropped another 1.6# since getting back to the gym again...yeah!! And I have to say to myself how proud I am that I've been really committing to this challenge for myself of getting back to the gym and sticking with it. Like I keep saying in my journals, I don't know where the will power is coming from for the workouts and the not cheating, but as long as it's there keeping me going...who cares

So workout challenges for May--well this week, I'm going to finish with just cardio and with camping this weekend, I hope to get to take this yoga class that is being help during the event, just for wonderful stretching and meditation.

Monday...hitting the shoulders and biceps on the weight training. I'm planning a series of 6 exercises alternating shoulder work with bicep work...starting with 5 minutes of cardio and ending with 5 minutes of cardio, I think if I get to the gym by 5am, I can get it done in 45 minutes and hit the showers. So I may need to set the alarm for 4am instead of 4:15. I'm usually sort of awake anyway.

Tuesday and Thursday will be cardio and abs days for now. I think I'm going to get the abs workout done first and then the cardio, I'm finding that if I save it for the end, I don't do it.

Wednesday...Legs and Back

Friday...Chest and Triceps

Default First day back at the gym

When a sign greets you at the gym at 4:45am saying No hot water...should you turn around and go back home? LOL...Well, I didn't and the shower after my workout was quick let me tell you. I hope it will be fixed by tomorrow. I did 20 min on the eliptical trainer, getting back in the swing of things for my renewed efforts for 2009. No resolutions this year to beat myself up over. Just going to take it all day by day. I have set myself up for some challenges but just getting thru the day right now is my major goal. The stress of house hunting has been tough but I'm just letting that go because it's not in my hands right now. The only thing I can control is what I'm eating and working out. I was planning on going to the gym 3 times per week for the month but I may hit the gym tomorrow morning too..it was good to get the day started early. I need to work on my morning meditation as well so I planning on getting up early again at 3:30am..YIKES!! Do my meditation, head off to the gym and then to work.
