Default I need some advice??

I was wondering if I should up my carbs after my 2 weeks of induction. Which is over next Tuesday and add on 5 carbs? Or should I wait? Well I am just scared that I wont loss as much, if I keep increasing but I find myself (in the pasting) cheating since I was only eating 20 carbs over a 2 month period. Any suggestions??

I was thinking of curves myself. My company lets us join and absorbs the joining fees! So it has been just fear of something new stopping me. I do workout at home, but I think if I joined something it would be more of a commitment on my part. I am not one for wasting money so I would use it. So I think I will schedule a tour. Thanks guys for getting me thinking!

Marie,

Definately look into Curves and I strongly suggest joining. It was the best thing I have done for myself in a long time--maybe ever. This is the first "gym" I have ever belonged to and am really enjoying it. I go at least 4 time per week, 5 if my schedule permits. I am just completing my second month and I cannot tell you how much better I feel. The scales are not moving much but I've had a hugh increase in my energy and stamina. I have seen an increase in my number of reps on the machines and a big difference in my flexability when I stretch after working out. It's easy, it's fast, you go at your own pace making it as easy or as hard as your body allows, and because of the increasing resistance with increasing speed you can get a great workout no mater what your physical level is.

I will definately look into that Madeline. You have me 100% sold. I am going to make the call and set up my tour appointment as soon as I am done here. I will keep you posted how it goes. I use the scale, but I like measuring myself the tape can't lie!

Rapvnzle: Congrats !!! I get measured first the time on Tuesday so I am hoping for some encouraging results especially since the scale isn't moving.

Stylist: Thanks for the suggestions. I will be away camping this weekend so I will be weighing in on Tuesday morning.

Maries1964: I too love Curves it doesn't even seem like I am exercising it goes by so fast. I took advantage of my work place paying for the memership fee.

Everyone have a good weekend.

Chantell, I would like some feedback on that too. I am outta of induction, but the only thing I have added is some sunflower seeds occasionally and a Zcarb bar here and there. However, since I have added those, I am not seeing much happen in pounds or measurements . I was considering not doing any nuts or zCarb, but adding some berries instead? Anway, I know that Dr. Atkins says to gradually add 5 carbs until you fall out of ketosis, so I thought I would try it by the the book . I am considering this my "play around" time to figure out what my body needs. Any advice from "old timers" would be awesome!!

After the 2 week of induction you add the total of pounds thatyou lost. You are supposed to up your carbs according to this chart.
Pounds to Loose High Average Low
less than 20 2 4 6
20-50 3 6 9
Over 50 4 8 12

This is what you are supposed to do on the Atkins program for OWL,(ongoing weght loss). In the begining you will loose water weight. After you review your results to this chart:

Metabolic Resistance Approximate Range
High <15 grams of carbs per day
Average <15-40 grams of carbs per day
Low <40-60 grams of carbs per day
regular exersiser <60-90 grams of carbs per day
a regular exerciser is someone who does 45minutes of vigorous exercise 5 days a week.

Now you can stay in induction but you will still loose if you follw that guide.

In the book it details all the ways that you can increase your carbs.I would suggest doing it because you will get bored.Be careful of malitol and other sugar substitutes except for splenda. The other ones can cause you to retain water. In the begining you lost a lot of weight because of water retention, all of us did. Also be careful of low carb products make sure that the ingredients coincide with the Atkins program because some of them don't.

I'll try to answer your questions but don't yell if I get it wrong:

1- No, this is not part of the countdowns and buddies thread.

2- I do believe that membership of this particular team is closed. If they chose to open it up, maybe you can be included. We are in our second week now. Are you aware that this is the Triple Digits Club? Meaning that people in this forum are going to lose more than 100 lbs.
