Hi,

I noticed this somewhat older thread, and I thought I'd ask if anyone knows of a doctor in Toronto who helps patients to do Atkins?

Hello fellow LCarbers,

I'm a female, 5' 6", 159 pounds, 37 years old, living in downtown TO and on Atkins. I would love to meet up with you all on Aug 20 (or even before).

A TO meeting would be great!
H.

I'm interested too - I'm in the Beaches, so downtown would be easy for me.

Hi Vikki,

Glad to see you are still here!

I'm still low-carbing, but haven't been reading these message boards.

I recently started up a Yahoo group:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lowcarbtoronto/

I've been hoping to organize something but hadn't gotten around to it because of studying.

I'm in of course!
Chris

Hi Rob,

If you don't mind me asking, what help do you need from a doctor regarding the diet? I don't know of any that fit that bill in Toronto. My own doctor is very positive about low-carbing, and follows the Zone himself.

He supports what I do, but doesn't help me with the plan.

I suppose I'm mostly interested in a doctor who supports the lo carb diet, and is knowledgeable about it. My doctor managed to freak me out about my blood lipids, and consequently eroded my confidence a bit. My cholesterol wasn't bad in Atkins terms. My TG had gone down significantly, my HDL had gone up a little, but my LDL had gone up somewhat more.

I don't want to have to explain to my doctor how ketosis works.

I understand you Rob... I'm tired of explaining to people that I'm not going to kill myself or make myself seriously ill...

I had been meaning to ask you; what is that cool "cheat free" counter you have?

Hi Rob,
Lots of people use it, it's from a member of this forum that made t for himself.

Just add this line to your SIGNATURE:

IMG http://home.new.rr.com/kitanniweb/atkins/28.gif /IMG

and everyday change the day from 1.gif to 2.gif, etc.
Don't forget to put IMG and /IMG between []

Hi Chris - yep, I started back yesterday. I've been on vacation and strayed somewhat - my hubby, who has never gained an ounce since I met him 10 years ago, seemed to have develop a bit of a tummy also, so he's starting as well (support at home is great!). Look forward to meeting all the TO Low carbers sometime soon.

Here's how:
1) Go to profiles
2) Select signature.
3) in the VB code toolbar at the top select the button 'IMG'.
4) in the field that comes up, past this:

http://home.new.rr.com/kitanniweb/atkins/4.gif

The image tags will be automaticaly generated.

Best,

Rob Yale
