I don't worry about water at all. I drink a lot of it, but I don't worry about drinking it. I prefer water to sweet drinks now, whereas when I started atkins I didn't want to drink anything unless it was a fruit juice.

I feel better when I drink more water. In addition I usually drink one glass of iced green tea and one Diet Rite per day. Generally speaking when I'm feeling bloated, water is the absolute cure-all. Weather's warming up now so I know I'll drink even more.

water is so important. also, people don't understand why they need it. one girl at work actually said "i feel bloated when i drink water". i tried to explain to her that if that happened, it was because her body needed it, and when she had drunk ENOUGH, her body would let it go. she was actually, as she described it, trying to drink " a lot" of water. under her desk was one of those little 8 oz bottles of water. it was half empty.

I read an article last night in FitnessRx for women and it said that you can burn up to 100 cals a day by drinking cold water. I didn't realize the body could work so hard metabolizing water. So I'm going to try to drink more cold water

I hope it helps! I'm sure trying to drink it now - at least 80 ounces per day.

I usually drink my allotment, but don't see a difference one way or the other.

I think I would feel better not drinking so much.

Don't know what happened to the drinking when you are thirsty thing. As a kid, I would run around and play for hours and then come in and chug two or more glasses of water. Worked then; why all of a sudden are we so inclined to be dehydrated. It's not like I'm 90 and my thirst mechanisms are off.

Being on a low carb diet shouldn't make us more prone to dehydration. The fact that we have no carbs to hold the water should make us need less, don't you think?

I don't know if all that water is neccesary for weight loss, but I do find that I have more cravings and generally eat more days when I didn't drink much water. I try to drink as much as I possibly can (and remember to). It's good for your skin too.

I am stuck on this question. I hate drinking the water, but I know it is best for me. Any time I try to up the ounces, I get this terrible bloat that doesn't leave for a few days, which results in added pounds on the scales, but I DO know that it's best to drink it. So, I drink it if I am thirsty, and outside of my coffee in the morning, I don't allow myself diet sodas or even tea. If I am thirsty, I drink water.

Well, I just had a 3 pound "whoosh" this week after a month long stall, and the only thing I did different was up my water consumption

Ive never been a big water drinker- even now when I know that I should be drinking it to help with the weight loss. I can go some days only drinking 2 diet rites a day. Im guessing this is bad. Either way I have still managed to lose weight.
