Did UBWO today. Did pretty good - didn't get any weights up, but I managed more reps with the weights I was using (coming in on target for most of them) so I'll probably get some of the weights up next one.

Got weights up on farmer's walks though to 25kg this time.

Worst thing is my UBWO is still coming in around 70 mins. I think I'm going to finish the BFL 12 weeks (just finished week 7) and then do a 3 day split to make upper body shorter.

Hey Doogie!

Glad you had an good UBWO. I hate upper body. Last night's workout was a struggle for me. That's one thing that I like about the way I am doing my workouts now is that I can split my upper body into 2 days. I hated BFL upper body day. Grr.

You must look pretty funny doing the farmer's walk (picturing it)

I know what that article says about doing a clean bulk, but I'd say it's a bad idea to go for 3 months without doing any cardio at all.... cut down to once a week yes, but cut it out completely is just asking for trouble!
I was thinking mentally that it would be hard for me to go without cardio. I really like it and my workouts don't feel complete without it.

Someone suggested that it might be better if I do CKD instead of NHE and said I should do a clean bulk. I never read up on CKD but I will read the thread (CKD 101) on the CKD board.

My goal is 17% body fat.

But Doogie, if I cut down the cardio what will I do? And where would I cut it down, after my weights or on the days I don't do weights? Also, I do not get why 20 minutes of cardio is a bad thing. It's not like I'm doing it for an hour.

Have you thought about putting any pics up in the gallery or are you too shy?
I don't want to scare anyone.

The real reasons are: I don't want to look fat in a picture, I read some of the cheesy lame sexist comments some guys make and I just want to puke and maybe I'm a little shy too.

Hi Doogie! This gym journal seems like mine today since it's all me writing in here.
Quote:

You're scared of looking fat? With those stats, what are you like 2 foot tall?
I'm short 5' 1"

Quote:
I hope I don't sound sexist or anything!
Not yet! I actually decided that it would be safe to post in your journal because you seemed nice and you never posted any cheesy/lame lines.

Quote:
Anyway, being shy is quite alright I know you wouldn't believe it, but I'm shy...... I know, looking at my gallery you wouldn't think so, but I am!
Yeah right!

Just kidding.

Hope the weather there is as beautiful as it is here. See ya.

Wooo, BFL day 50!

Right, at Pammie's request I'm going to start posting my workouts properly..... nobody laugh at my weights

LBW today... planned to get squat up to 70kg today but the squat rack kicked my ass, so no weight up today!

Weights in kg (lbs)

Squat 12 x 40 (88) , 10 x 50 (110), 6 x 60 (132), 3 x 60 (132), 12 x 40 (88)

The squat *totally* kicked my ass today..... believe me I just couldn't have tried any harder... if you'd seen the colour I was and the amount of sweat coming out of me!

Part of my problem is I think my squat is being limited more by my lower back than by my quads.

Leg Extension 12 x 40 (88)

Changed over from barbell straight leg dead lifts which I started 2 LBWOs ago to doing dumbell straight leg dead lifts to hit the hams better

Dumbell Straight Leg DeadLift 12 x 13 (29), 10 x 14 (31), 8 x 15 (33), 6 x 15 (33), 12 x 15 (33)

Lying Leg Curl 7 x 35 (77), 5 x 30 (66) - was supposed to be 12 x 35 but it kicked my ass too!

Standing Calf Raise 12 x 120 (265), 10 x 127.5 (281), 8 x 135 (298), 6 x 142.5 (314), 12 x 135 (298)

Skipped the sitting calf raise as there was someone on it and my calves were *screaming* - to put this into perspective, on day 3, my first BFL LBWO, my 6 x at the top of the pyramid was 37.5 kg (83lbs) and today it was almost 4 times that

If only all my other weights would go up that much

Did 2 sets of 12 oblique crunches on stability ball then 2 sets of 12 incline crunches with legs up on stability ball.

Hey Doogie! I like reading people's workouts. Glad you're posting them.

Quote:

How could I laugh at you when I could not pick up 55 lbs from just below my waist to the back of my head. I was too embarassed after asking some guy at the gym to help me put them on (5 lbs on each side) to ask him to put it on my back so I just used the empty 45lb bar to squat with.

How often should people raise the weights they lift?

That must have been pretty...NOT! There was this guy goaning (or something ) whilst doing his chest yesterday. It wasn't pretty.

Whoa! Congrats! So thats how you built them.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey Doogie!

Quote:
That's what the squat rack is for! Makes squatting waaaaaaaaay easier than trying to move it there by hand
Well someone was using it and I didn't wanna wait and I figured that if 45 lb barbell ( I was really excited when I found that I had lift 45 lbs) from there to over my head I I could lift 45lbs + 2-5 lb plates over my head--WRONG! So there I stood not even able to lift it after the guy who had a sprained hand had helped me put the plates on with great difficulty I might add. So I just used another 45 barbell.

the mirror beside the squat rack in my gym has lots of speckles on it from people grunting when breathing out and spraying the mirror...
Ewww...lovely

I love the soreness afterwards... sad but true
I loved it last week until it went on for days. I actually went to for a walk because they needed stretching and yes they still hurt like hell. I'm afraid of how I will feel tomorrow.
