Go and find out what gluconeogenesis is

Pretty much unless you're doing insane amounts of weights, a whole lot of that protein will turn in to glucose and in turn prevent/stall your weight loss.

From my reading your protein requires are based somewhere between 0.5 and 1.0g of protein a day per LEAN body mass - (primal blueprint and protein power) - 0.5 for sedentary, 1.0 for very active.

If that is the case, than that diet seems very hard core. I would only do that if I had to get up on a stage in my bathing suit.

Have you been able to sustain it?

So is this an "everyday diet" or is this "for only two weeks while I try and eliminate water before a contest" sort of thing?

I gotta say...how about just eating food if this is an every day thing? Why eat protein powder a couple of times a day?

If this is for a contest....forget I said anything...

Yeah i've been going with this diet strong.

Sometimes I do change some protein powder for some tuna or salmon and am usually doing steak and about 6 asparagus spears for dinner. I also added a bunch of natural peanut butter into my diet to help with fats

Occasionally do some sugar free jello with a tiny bit of whip cream if craving a sweet.

Still making sure i'm below 20carbs daily

For the longest time I was using this garbage grocery store type stuff which was about 24g protein and 2 carbs per a 30g scoop.

I stopped by a health store a few weeks ago and found some stuff which is 27g protein and only 0.5 carbs per 30g scoop which a little of is fiber as well. This stuff also tastes way better and is still the same price yet better quality for sure. Yumm, Tropical Punch flavour.

I will post some ingredients when I get home, I am at work at the moment.

what is the brand? I use to use Designer Whey. But that was 4 or 5 years ago, I wonder if they have a new generation of shakes out.

How many calories are you getting each day? Are you hungry a lot?

I use AllMax Nutrition Isoflex, a Whey Protein Isolate

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/all/iso.html

As for calories I consume between 1700-1900 daily, although this sometimes seems lower because when i end up making a bunch of eggs in the morning I can only handle eating 2... I don't know why this has been happening lately because I don't eat late at night for me to still be full.... I think my stomach is just turned off from eggs right now, I want to try and find something else to eat in the mornings but i'm not sure what.

I'd say I feel hungry 25% of the day but I just deal with it. Its never at mornings... It usually spikes before lunch and just before my shift is over and I get to go home and make dinner.. I eat every 3 hours or less.

so the dave palumbo plan is low carb low fat, eh? I'm trying to give in to the Atkins style of more fat less protein because I keep trying to make it lower fat with chicken breast and egg whites. I"m trying the eggfest to see how it goes. Today is day 1 and I'm as hungry as a hostage.

Yeah - Tons of eggs are rough. Lots of calories and just don't satisfy hunger at all. I'm seeming to get into a more Atkins approach just because my body wont let me do a eggfest any more... I just dont like the taste very much and eating a bunch i end up feeling sick to my stomache.

I have started to throw in a couple strips of turkey bacon with around 3 eggs which seems to help my mornings. I'm also debating switching up one of the powders to some Macadamia nuts... my diet might look like the following soon... which is still very low carb but has increased fats

Meal 1 : 3 Whole eggs with 2 strips Turkey Bacon

Meal 2 : Protein Powder

Meal 3 : Chicken Breast with 1tbsp Peanut Butter

Meal 4 : Macadamia Nuts ( have not put in place as of now )

Meal 5 : Grilling Steak with 5 Asparagus Spears

Meal 6 : Protein Powder ( this is for post-workout )

I feel this is defiantly a more Atkins approach that I would be following - thoughts? I think the fats would only be at around a medium range rather than a high range... but certainly not a low range any more.

Default eggfest

so you did eggfest too? I feel like I'm fasting!

That diet you just put down looks more sustainable and gives you more variety. You may get into ketosis if you aren't already.

The "post workout" shake is the best time to do fake food, so that looks good.

Pretty sure I should be in Ketosis. Eating like that I'm getting in around 15g carbs a day Id say, which is less than the accepted amount of carbs Induction lets you have while on Atkins.

Except that for Atkins we are supposed to get 'most' of our up to 20 net carbs in the induction phase from our vegetables

True that haha.

Well, I decided to step on the scale for the first time in 2 weeks.... i've gone from 235 to 220 in that amount of time.

I'm sure most is water weight though I thought I lost like all of it a few weeks before. Stepped on the scale a few days later to make sure it wasnt something weird and random but nope.. down to 220.
