DH just got back Tuesday (ya, I'm repeating myself :agree and I keep forgetting to tell him I'm working on plans for Saturday...shoot me. It's been (and continues to be) a rough week.

Janet, if we actually DO make it, want to join us for coffee or a light lunch? We'd probably be spending most time in and around Ganges, I imagine.

...and I'm a weenie, don't want to go if it's actually raining. Can you PM/email me your phone number, Steph? It's not on my handy dandy digital gadget...how quickly we become dependent...

Did we ever settle on a new date?

Did you ladies go to the Apple Festival?

I've been out of touch because, first I was away, and then when I got home, my computer died!!!! I'm back at work now and I bought a new computer yesterday.

Miss you all!

Julie

Ahhhhh, the apple festival that wasn't...

That's a story all by itself...but we did have a fine lunch and a nice drive.

I don't think we actually have a date (or two). Weird month we're having, though.

Did you have a fabulous time while you were away?!

My vacation was awesome..... didn't want to come back (of course!!!). I bought some new clothes and shoes and did more walking than I ever did in my life (8-10 km a day)!

It was a shock to come back to work. Big sigh..... my job is posted and I have to compete it, even though I'd rather do something else. The other one I interviewed for, the ML 6, they gave to an FO 18!?!?!?!?!

Let's work on some dates here!

Julie

We're leaving Thursday morning for Alberta, back sometime on the 21st, barring the unexpected! I THINK the rest of the month is free, but if everybody else prefers an earlier date, I'll catch up with you all in November.

Julie, my sympathies on the dead computer. Mine just died too - a lap-top and the fan quit. Would have cost almost as much fix it as a new one cost and I would have still had an old computer. Thank God, the computer tech was able to get most of my data transferred to the new computer, so I didn't have a lot of missing stuff - at least nothing vital! And when I told him to scrap/recycle the old one, he pulled out the hard drive and gave it to me, both in case I found something else that I need from it, and also for security. Very helpful man!

I still haven't transferred data yet - need to get my tech back to help me.

I'm hoping I can move the programs I need as well as data/music files....have to see. Not sure what I will do with old one yet - door stop?

Miss all of you!!

Julie

Depends on how old it IS, but I think the BC Science Council still has a program for "recycling" computers/parts (they fix & recondition) for the needy and schools and such.

Anybody up for a leisurely lunch/brunch on, say, Saturday October 25th? That Glo place in the Selkirk area sounds really nice and I've checked, their prices are about level with Kelsey's or Montana's or White Spot for that matter...

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

You know, I envy all you Canadians. We American LCers never have these get togethers. Maybe we're an antisocial bunch.

Ya know, one of my first (and still the biggest) LC social event was a yard party at an LCer's place in Tacoma, the First Ever (and ultimately only) Pacific NorthWest Annual Get-Together...some years ago.

A few of us traveled on down together, me from the Island, a mother-daughter team from somewhere in the Vancouver area.

Great times were had by all...and I really enjoyed the boat trip(s) to and fro. Pretty special.
