We have something here called "carb choppers" they are made by the Santa Fe tortilla factory. I think that might be a local company though. There are only 4 net carbs in them and they are yummy.

I highy recommend the Buena Vida brand. They are very good, in the whole wheat. We like to use them, along with the low carb flat out bread to make cheese roll ups.

We cut them either in half for the Buena Vida, or in thirds for the Flat out bread and put green onions and Mont. cheese then microwave them to melt the cheese. Roll them up and dip in no carb ranch dressing.

Makes my mouth water just thinking of them,
Tim

i like La Tortilla Factory, the big ones are only 5g per tortilla and even my boyfriend likes them. They taste like...well..tortillas.

Talking Not a Tortilla, but ...

I found "CarbDown Flatout" at my Wal-Mart. It comes in italian herb and original flavor. They are flatbreads. Totally cool! They are 12 inchs and can be used for wraps, pinwheels, quesadillas or thin crust pizza! 24 total carbs, 15 fiber, 1 sugar alcohol!! 8 or 9 gr of carbs for a full 12 inch wrap! I always cut mine in half to make my pizza! They are good toasted too.

They were in the deli section by the meat case!!

Hope it helps as another option.

Bethany

Bethany,
Those where the flat breads I was speaking of in my post above. They are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are 2.00 for a package of four, so not to bad. They have had only the original flavor lately, but the italian is good. I hope they get have it for us again soon.

Please check it out, you will love them

Timothy

Default Mission rocks!

I think I've tried almost all of these brands at this point. My favorite is definitely the Mission ones (to the person who said they were high in carbs: those are the regular ones, not the ones marked "low-carb). The smaller, whole-wheat ones are 4 net carbs; the bigger, regular flour ones are 7. I use the smaller ones, and they're the only LC product I'll use (sugar alcohols are evil to me these days, and I've never liked the bars anyway).

And the fiber (I believe it's 8 grams in the smaller tortillas) is always welcome.

They are also good if you have a sweet craving. Mix butter with sugar free log cabin syrup and spread on them!!! very yummy.

Our Wal-Mat started carrying the Don Pancho brand low carb wraps/tortillas. They are very good, only have 3 net carbs (no sugar achohols), are $2.17 for a pack of 10 and, unlike the Mission brand, have no trans-fats.

At Kroger and Publix I have been able to find a few different brands. I like "La Banderita" LC (5 net for a soft taco size). The problem with these is they acquire an odd taste after I put them in the fridge for a few days after openining. I realized they don't actually need to be put in the fridge, but I did so out of habit.

I also like the Mission LC tortillas, flour and wheat versions. They are a bit larger than La Banderita, higher carbs (7 vs 5) and I did not care for the flavor of these out of the bag. I tried to fry these up (based on comments in this board) and was shocked at how good they are when prepared this way.

I actually am not even making burritos anymore; I just eat a mexican salad and use the tortilla as a side.

Story of my life... I ordered 6 pkgs. of Mama Lupe's tortillas (net 3 carbs) from Netrition yesterday. Walked into GNC and found they had them on sale for...

99 cents per pack!

They appear to be fresh although I can not decipher the expiration date. My local GNC has tons and I guess they were not moving. I bought 3 additional pkgs. for the freezer. This was the first time I've tried Mama Lupe, BTW but I like them at least as much as La Tortilla Factory.

I get Buena Vida whole wheat ones (7 carb) at Publix. I can only eat the whole wheat ones cause the other low carb ones just taste like dough to me.
