Default Leave My Stuff Alone!

I am sitting here in my "at work" office where I just went to get a cup of coffee. Everyone here uses those (ghastly to me) flavored coffee creamer things and claims to not like regular cream or half and half in their coffee. Fine, I contribute to the snack pool to be a good citizen even though they never buy anything I will eat. It's not a big deal. And I buy my own cream, which is also not a big deal.

Here's the big deal. I bought a new quart of half & half on Friday. I have had one cup of coffee. My container is empty.

Here's the rest of the big deal: it is happening every time I buy the stuff and bring it in.

I'm not contributing again to the snack fund, and I'm putting my name on my half & half. Buttheads!

I'm just about to go back into the workplace after a 10 year break (did do other stuff but no office work), hmmmmmmmm i'm foreseeing taking a box with a combination lock on it to keep my stuff safe. Mind you when i popped into the personnel office today they had plates of crappy looking muffins lying around and offered me one, at least they were crappy looking so saying no came naturally

I don't blame you, its your stuff. Maybe you could put it in a container marked as biohazardous waste and see how many takers you have then

I work at a group home and one of the clients will steal my lunch if I don't keep a close eye or get distracted in the office! She'll even go through my purse if she thinks I'm not watching.

You might consider putting your cream into another container... like a plastic one and marking it "breast milk" or something.

Or if you can fit it, and are allowed, get a little dorm fridge (smallish cube sized fridge) and put it under your desk or in your office/cubicle. I got tired of the insanity of the shared kitchen so did this and it works out wonderfully. I have lots of snacks in there, my lunch, creamer, etc. and no one ever touches it.

If you can't do that, maybe put your creamer in a brown paper bag with your name on it, so people think it's your lunch?

That or set up a web-cam and catch them in the act!

Put on a note on it that says, "I spat in it."

Or do what I did with breastmilk in the office- keep it in your own cooler and not the shared fridge!

We got a little teeny tiny mini fridge at Target that has a switch - it can either keep things cold or warm - and it holds just a few things - like maybe five cans of soda or a thing of cream. The boys have it upstairs in their "clubhouse". It is pretty cool - you could keep it at your desk - in your office - in your cube - or whatever your workspace is. I just looked online at Target.com and I don't see it there - I wanted to see what it was called. This isn't exactly it - but here is reasonable facsimile.... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RBEWOM...20&linkCode=asn

Otherwise, perhaps it is time to get out the fist of death....

Lister: What kind of milk are we using now?
Holly: Emergency backup supply. We're on the dog's milk.
Lister: Dog's milk!
Holly: Nothing wrong with dog's milk. Full of goodness, full of vitamins, full of marrowbone jelly. Lasts longer than any other milk, dog's milk.
Lister: Why?
Holly: No bugger'll drink it. Plus of course the advantage of dog's milk is that when it goes off, it tastes exactly the same as when it's fresh.

Wouldn't that technically be "bitch's milk"?
