Default coffee in the morning

has anyone been able to drink coffee w/ non-dairy creamer and sweet-n-low in the morning after waking up? I can't seem to answer this for myself. Does it cause a stall or gain, or is it just fine because of the low carb content. Please let me know, I love coffee in the morning, and I absolutely hate it w/o creamer of sweet-n-low. Thanks, Amy.

You're not supposed to have it with non dairy creamer. Milk, cream, alf and half is fine though.

I drink three cups of coffee every morning with non-dairy creamer and splenda and as you can see by my numbers it hasn't hurt my weight loss one bit. It's just up to the individual, their food intake and activity level. I am sure their must be other factors that weigh in as well. It's something you will have to experiment with...

Thanks, ya'll. I will try it for a week and see what happens. How come you can have milk, but not non-dairy creamer. I thought milk had more carbs. Don't have any on hand so I can't go look. Thanks, Amy

Non-dairy creamer has starchy fillers to give it that "creamy" taste and texture, which adds up to a lot of carbs.

I drink a lot of coffee. I had to bite the bullet and learn to "appreciate" black coffee with no sug. substitutes. I have learned that sugar substitutes cause me to crave so I try to stay away from them.

I don't think I could ever acquire a taste for black coffee w/ no AS. Yuucckk!!
If I find that coffee w/ milk or creamer & AS causes me to stall then I guess I will have to do w/o coffee. Thanks, Amy

I'm with IAteIt, I take my coffee black. When I first started drinking coffee many years ago (I'm an old fart of 37), I had to have a minimum of 4 tsp. sugar, plus milk, in it. I worked my way down and by the time I was in my 30s, I was drinking it black all the time. I drink a lot of coffee--but it doesn't have to be high-test, I also drink decaf. So it's not the caffeine--there's something about the smell and taste that remind me of good mornings and seeing my family together at the breakfast table.

Oh well, mini-tangent over!

Well make me feel old- my youngest will graduate next week.
On the coffee issue- Atkins and CAD are different. The chemicals in nondairy creamer and nonfat h&h aren't good for us. I do think it is an issue of YMMV, but drinking coffee black works for me. When I want creamer, i have h&h with the coffee once in the day ( a couple times a week) and have it within 15 minutes, which is fine on plan.
