Been pretty quiet here on the FOBW thread...any newbies out there who want to talk?

I'm doing well. DH and I got married on July 4th...see my gallery for a few pics. It was a beautiful, perfect day, surrounded by our FOBW family and few stray non-program family and friends. It's so good to married to someone also in the program.

Five years is a wonderful milestone. As someone in the program I know I appreciate recognition of sobriety milestones from my close friends, but only privately and as it relates to my personal relationship with them. I always tell my friends who pick up chips that God loves them, so do I, and I appreciate their example for me and others. As you know, it's not about the sober person, it is that person's higher power that keeps her sober. So we are really saying, "good job, God!"

There is a litter of Bichon puppies due in a few weeks and we are getting one!
I've been feeling down for a few days because DD is not doing well with GSs schooling and it is recomended that he go to a boarding school in Hershey. Its a great school, but I do not like him going away so young, I'd take him back but Davids heart condition is too severe. I feel guilty about that, too. My weight is still up, it is TOM and even though I watch what I do eat, I'm eating emptionally and thats not good, also David passed out this morning in a meeting, he came too quickly and we came home. I think it was his diabetes, but that scared the crap out of me, too. David had 31 years on Sept 16th, I will have 16 on february 20th.

Hi all! I'm relatively new to the site -- well, let's just say that I hadn't noticed the FOBW thread before. This month (11/26), all the Gods willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be celebrating 20 years sober.

Huh...seems like just yesterday that I was sitting in my first meeting saying that I DIDN'T have a drinking problem. I didn't, really, I had a STOPPING problem. But, one day at a time, I've stayed stopped.

Congrats to everyone else who is staying stopped one day at a time.

Thank you, Liddie. I'm a bit embarrassed, but I'd almost forgotten that it was that time. You know, I'm just going on and living and not drinking, and suddenly it all adds up.

I sometimes wish food were that easy.
