Default Hi

Hey... dipping my toe into the Paleo pool. I'm a total carnivore anyway, so this isn't too hard.

Had about 70% of my cals from fat yesterday, 20% from protein... a little too much fat as I found out this morning, but I am down 2lb from yesterday.
1. Does this sound ok to you guys?

2. Also VERY thirsty and I hear this is normal?

3. Can I ask folks how much weight loss they've experienced since switching to a paleo lifestyle?

Thanks.

Hi, Annabel! High fat, lc paleo for me has meant rapid weight loss, about 40 lbs in 4 monthes or so. I have indeed found myself needing lots of water. The great thing for me on paleo this time is that I have almost totally lost the taste for food. For the first time in my life I am able to see food purely as a way to get energy for my day and not as an obsession that must constantly be fought. I actually need to remind myself to eat. The only bad thing is that I have now passed my goal by 5 lbs and can't seem to force enough food to maintain However, I am so happy to be freed from obsessive eating! Btw, I eat a very bland diet to achieve this state of mind but am loving it!

Wow, Mio, well done!!! Awesome losses.

Thanks for the reassurance about the thirst thing. Nice to know it's not just me!
I hear a bland diet with lots of repetition is the way to go when losing anyway... but it's great you have been freed from obsessive eating. That's truly an amazing feeling, eh?
Thanks so much for the feedback! : )

It really is quite amazing, except that I have to force down 3000 calories per day of food I cannot enjoy, but I'll gladly trade that for the extra body fat

Heh, thanks Thomas! Bet all the Groks are too busy playing...

Wow Mio, 3000cals is a lot if you've gotta force it down. I'm on about 2000 approx daily and have had a few losses in the past week, which is nice. But eating to live is waaaay better than living to eat.

It really is way better! Honestly, before coming back to lc my day was pretty much spent thinking about the next snack or meal, but now my thoughts are more where they need to be! Eating has become a tiny part of the day, just another business matter that must be taken care of! For me that spells V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, woohoo!
