Default Sweetners

Okay, so I know that sugar in my tea is out, and that I'm not supposed to use aspartame...what am I allowed to use? I bought generic (walmart brand) artificial sweetner, is that okay???

Ivory - what is the ingredient listed on the box? If it is aspartame or aspartic acid, stay away. If it is saccharin, that is like Sweet & Low, and I think that is NOT recommended either.

Splenda is a brand name of a new sweetener that is actually made from sugar, but with no calories. It seems to be the sweetener of choice around these boards. Its a vailable in the supermarket.

Stevia is a plant extract that is a non-nutritive sweetener used around here as well. You get it in a health food store.

Hope this helps!
