Default Cravings - Stage One

Hi All,

I first did South Beach Diet a couple of years ago! When I initially started the diet three years ago, I weight 265, while at 6"00.

I went off of South Beach when I reaced 230.

I am currently sitting at 205 a 6'2".

I am now back on the lifestyle of South Beach! Can you all give me some tips on how to reduce the cravings? When there are treats in front of me, I tend to eat one, as I thnk it doesnt hurt. Even though it clearly does!!

I am feeling motivated!! My goal is to be at 185 by February 14th, my 19th Birthday!

Thanks all, and good luck!!

Welcome back Mk!

I used to eat two boiled eggs and half a cucumber when I had cravings. That helped.

One delicious Phase 1 friendly treat I discovered on the forums a while back always does the trick:

1 SF fudgesicle, microwaved for 15 seconds
1 T peanut butter
1-2 T SF cool whip

Mix it all together and refreeze for 20 minutes or so. It tastes like a reese's cup blizzard, and it's completely "legal"!

Enjoy.

Welcome! You said, "When there are treats in front of me...." Are you inevitably in situations where treats are in front of you? At first, the first month or two, it's easier to get out of their way, get your body unaccustomed to treats. Then when you do eat one, your body's probably not going to like it, and it'll probably take you a while to recover, and you'll have a chance to notice that it wasn't worth it.

Stop eating the treats. It makes you want more treats. Make the peanut butter cups or another low carb desert. It will get easier, but not if you keep eating the treats. Do you want to be ready for your Valentine's Day celebration or do you want the treat?

Late at night are my weakest moments. Even an apple sets me off and always leads to more. Much more. So I tend to brush my teeth instead. In the past 3 days successfully...
