I have 1972, 1992 and 2002 DANDR, and I like all of them, I like 2002 the least--too watered down, too liberal. For my taste, anyway, I'm sure it's great for a lot of folks.
I've never read the AFL books, b/c I don't think they were written by him.
I only recommend the '72 version. I think it's more "pure" and gives you the "real" Atkins diet (before Atkins bars/ Atkins shakes etc.). It's minimalist and easy.
I haven't read the 72 version and the 2002 version is my bible. I bought Atkins for Life and you know, if I ever get to maintainance it might be a great book to have, unfortunately, thats not going to happen in the near future. Im losing at a bout a pound a month so Maintenance is probably when I'm 80 LOL .I don't like his cookbook, I bought two of them, and I'll stick with LIndas, Danas and those from you guys on this forum.
I'm pretty sure I have the 2002 version. White cover, blue writing. I like it.
I paged thru some of the newer versions, but didn't bother buying them. They really seemed to push the low carb products, which I think you're better off learning how to eat low carb without them. Both for cost, as well as for the stalls all those sugar alcohols can cause. Plus, I hate any diet that makes you rely on their products just on principle.
