I grew the Blackberry potato last year, dug them small. Made a potato salad. A bit strange visually as the mayo turned lavender!!

The russetts have a thick tough skin, for protection during shipping. As a kid I loved the crispy skin stuffed with margarine. Not my thing now.
My mother served potatoes at most dinner meals. Active teenagers eating just 3 meals , a meat, a veg, a potato dish, and no snacks.

The yellow fleshed potatoes have more nutrients, so I don't usually grow white potatoes. Though purple Viking is gorgeous.
Potatoes need a lot of potassium. Fertilizing becomes necessary to meet their needs.
Growing huge potatoes is a science!!
Washing tiny potatoes is pita! But make the best boilers. Funny how while potatoes don't suck up the salt like cut potatoes.
Digging Purple Vikings now.
