Default Craving citrus!

I do Atkins and right away had no problem shutting off the carb-switch... no jones', no visceral temptations... just craving from my brain if you know what I mean. But lately, I pass by the grapefruit at the store and it wafts directly to my olfactory nerve! Ah! *Shivers*

Not sure if I need the vitamin C or what?! I do take my vitamins...

I've been good so far, but wonder if I could just lick the rind... jk LOL!!

Lemon & lime juice are allowed on atkins. I drink a tablespoon or two of lemon juice diluted in warm water every morning, put lemon slices in my drinking water, and occasionally just suck a lemon wedge sprinkled with salt. I don't know if that'd cure the cravings for grapefruit or not, but maybe it'd be worth a shot.

I have lime juice in my soda water, or when I could I would buy citrus flavored bubbly waters. Kicks my craving for soda, flavors AND gets me some well-needed water.

I agree with others, I'd totally try a little lemon or lime in your water

HOW much C do you take? It might not be enough. I would try upping the amount, even spread it out over the day as vitamin C is quickly "used up" or excreted.

Good thoughts LarryAJ. I just take a multivitamin with 100%. You may have something with spacing it out in the day. Especially important in cold/flu season!

Crystal lite makes a nice grapefruit drink powder. I can't use it full strength, but diluted with lots of ice is a wonderful change of pace drink. I also like their pink lemonade candies. Just one in the evening has been a nice treat. For me, these do not set up cravings.
