Default So far, So good (and a question)

So far, So good

Well, since Monday, I have been doing fairly well,
In spite of a great big deal that could have been a stress-out,
Instead I slept extra last night and seem to have energy
for going about fixing things today.

No huge sweets-cravings in the evenings, but I did
go overboard on the whole wheat crackers. It was
a very small box and I won't be buying them again soon.

My question for you is this. On previous sucessful diet
plans, I allowed myself one "free" day per week. the
rule was that the free day could never be closer than
6 days apart. Meaning if my free day was a Saturday,
and I had a special event coming on a Wednesday, I
had to plan for at least 6 days before and after the
Wednesday, then work my way back to my Saturdays.
Or else skip 2 Saturdays and substitute a Wednesday.

Do you think I'll be setting myself back too far if I
do this? I mean on that Saturday it was "anything
goes". Pizza, sweets anything at all. I found it
helped me get through the week, and many times
I really didn't want to to all that much damage on
my saturdays. it was just liberating knowing
there was a day that I could if I wanted to. I
know I can live this way, but I'm not sure I can
spend forever with NO sweets, NO caffeine, and so
on.

What do you think?
Donna

I personally couldn't get very far if I allowed myself a day of anything I wanted. For me it would lead to a couple or three days of junk. Take a look at everything you can have on the program that appeals to you and pamper yourself as much as possible. I fell in love with the cottage cheese combined with berries. I spend more than I would have before on buying fresh raspberries, blue berries, black berries and strawberries. After all I'm not spending money on junk food. I buy more expensive meats too - a good steak, fresh salmon. I'm surprised at all the different foods I can eat on SB program. I just found a new one this weekend - Corn Thins. They're like rice cakes, except they're corn of course, and they're much thinner. I had them with tuna salad this morning for breakfast. The tuna was paired with almost an equal amount of no sugar pickle relish. My last birthday I celebrated with a huge meringue topped with sliced strawberries. The meringue holds the candles really well! Don't despair - the adventure begins in earnest.
