Default Another Girl's Only Question

I read the other Girl's Only Post and my problem is similar, but, I thought it needed it's own thread! Feel free to merge though, just in case I'm wrong.

Anyhow!

I've LCing since early July, and have since lost 26 pounds (yeehaw!). The first month, I got my period right on time, and it was normal length and 'flow'. The second month (last month), I got every symptom of pregnancy - light cramps, nausea, dizziness, minor bloating, mood swings, breast tenderness, sensitivity to smell - I mean I got the whole nine yards. I have never had problems with PMS symptoms before (with the exception of an occasional mood swing ) ... and I seriously thought I was pregnant and so did my husband. But my period came right on time, and the second day of AF all the symptoms went away, and my period was heavier and longer than normal (it wasn't a miscarriage though - no tissue, sorry - gross!). Ok, so this month I got my period a whopping 4 days early (something totally wierd and off), with no symptoms of PMS/Pregnancy (except I did get nauseas the other day but it could have been from the bacon I ate for breakfast) ... and my period is way lighter than normal and it's even a lighter color. Sorry if this is all TMI! And by the way, I did take an HPT last month and it was BFN so I am very doubtful I'm pregnant, especially since I'm on my period right now.

Here's my question, now that I've explained it all. Can LCing cause you to have an irregular irratic period schedule - meaning you still get your period - but it's no longer an every-28-days schedule. I know LCing can cause you to NOT get your period ... but to cause it to come way too early? Can it cause massive PMS symptoms?

From what I've read it can cause EVERYTHING. Late, early, none, too often, heavier, lighter, purple with green polka dots-- oh, just kidding on that one! I've read it also can change your ovulation cycle too so be careful.

I have not had too many problems but I was light the first month and SUPER HEAVY all the months after that. One day I actually felt really PMS-ey which NEVER happens to me. I'm also like clock work to the day normally. Over the last few months I'm a few days early or a few days late (which makes me nervous because before I could predict I would get it on the 5th. And on the 5th it would come-- now it's a bit of a guessing game). I have experienced some cramping and MAJOR breast tenderness before hand too and I only would have that before if I was prego.

I wouldn't worry. Seems it come with the territory.

My cycle has shortened to about 22 days for the last several months since serious LCing. Mostly my hormones do feel more balanced, but I had PMS and bad cramping just before last TOM

I was wondering if burning fat is dumping extra hormones (like estrogen) into my system right now. I used to have many anovulatory cycles, other problems, but a few months before LC I started using some natural progesterone and most of that straightened out. Anovulatory cycles can make you pretty estrogen dominant. This last month was so reminescent of the "old days" it got me to wondering about whether fat-stored estrogens might be the culprit for me.

I hope everything straightens itself out someday, since I have no intention of returning to my old WOE!

I would take a HPT just in case, I know some people who bled normally in the first few months of pregnancy. Though it's probably just this way of eating. It seems a lot of people see differences with their cycle. I guess the new way of eating gives your hormones a spin.

Estrogen is a bodyfat bound hormone. Burn it off rapidly and it dumps extra estrogen in your system causing all the symptoms you mentioned. It can take a while for things to even out especally if you keep losing at a rapid pace. If you're on BC becareful. Changing hormone levels can affect their effectiveness. DD is 6 months preggers with a BC baby!!
