Question Help me please! how to be sure?

Hi, DO I HAVE CANDIDA?
Hello guys, it’s really comforting to see you’r not alone.
I’ve beeing suffering since August 2008 and no doctor could know what’s wrong since all lab tests came normal, at the end they think it’s stress..BUT IT”S NOT I AM STRUGGELING HELLOOOOOOO!!!!
I experience sudden loss of appetite with nausea sometimes and looks like my digestive system has shutdown..also irritability and emotional symptoms like feeling don and helpless also tired like exhausted fatigue.

these symptoms lasts few days and then ack to normal, it was coming before my menstruation and when I stoped breastfeeding it starts to come anytime.

I did my own research and found out that my Homeopath was maybe right, he said it might be candida overgrowth, since it cause like PMS symptoms and also all these underlined / undiagnosed syptoms.

I am really exhausted of not being diagnosed, the few days when my system shutdown with my emotional feelings down and I don’t eat and loose weight …all of this made me worry.

The thing I am not sure about if it could be candida is many people suffers from craving sweets and food but I do the opposite.. BUT I noticed that when I am back to normal I crave all of these stuff.

The only explaination I could give myself is when I am fine and I start craving foods it gives the candida power again and then shut my system down, and hen shut down I do not eat thus i fast without intention then the candida get calm that’s why I feel good again ..and so…

What do you think???

PS: I did the candida home test (with the glass of water) and did it few times and always I see the negative results after spitting immediatly…so it shows that I have candida.

What is the accurate test for this?

Thank you for support...

This forum doesn't seem to be too active. I see that you have already started to detox from your other thread. How is that going? What did the naturopath give you for getting rid of the yeast? I took probiotics, oil of oregano and coconut oil. Diet was the key, but you need to add some antifungals to get rid of it too. I don't know if there really is a concrete test for candida--you really have to go by symptoms more than anything else. The problem is that the symptoms of cadida so much sound like other things it is hard to tell what is what!! I was having thyroid symptoms and it turns out my adrenals are fatigue and it isn't my thyroid. A lot of those symptoms are candida like too. It really is confusing.

Take a look at the beginning of my journal. I have some detailed stuff in there about how I attacked my candida. Drop me a post if you want to compare notes. There are also some really good old threads on here if you search the forum about the symptoms of candida, good websites and groups on it, and how to treat it.

Sorry to have missed your post!

Candida is one of many problems associated with a high-carb and high-fructose diet. Unfortunately, they all have overlapping symptoms so it's sometimes hard to tell if you have it. Fortunately, they all have the same treatment: Cut carbs, cut fructose, eliminate gluten and dairy. Some people need to eliminate all grains; some people don't need to eliminate dairy. But it's a good place to start. Sometimes antifungals like coconut oil help, sometimes probiotics like raw sauerkraut help.

The Specific Carbohydrate Diet is one approach to candida. A newer approach is called the low-FODMAP diet.

The only way to be really sure is to get a test by an infectious disease specialist - and that's not easy..

Look for ELISA, Western Blot, PCR, immunofluorescence and tissue culture.

There is a test for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) which is very similar to candida and has pretty much the same symptoms. It sounds pretty simple: they test for the presence of hydrogen in your breath. You have to drink a lot of sugar, though.

I do appreciate it A LOT !!!!

you know my problem that the symptoms are not present permanently, but out of sudden it happen! so that's why i couldn't see if it's some allergy or candida since I eat the same all the time but doesn't attacks me these symptoms always, mostly end of my period!! maybe because the body is axhausted !!

Now after being on candida diet 6 weeks and taking probiotic also enzymes, I do feel better and these symptoms are lessen but sometimes I feel pain in my calf muscles ...so annoying!!!

Thank you again for your posts

What kind of pain - cramps? That's usually a sign of a mineral deficiency - maybe magnesium, maybe potassium, maybe calcium or even sodium. Experiment with supplements or mineral-rich foods and see if that helps.

Potassium-rich foods: celery, parsley, most other vegetables
Magnesium, sodium, potassium, calcium, trace minerals: Bone broth
Magnesium: bath salts. Take a bath in Epsom or Dead Sea salts, or even just soak your feet with them. Some people sprinkle some in their shoes even.

Default Candida information

Hi,

It seems like everyone needs good information about candida and how to follow the plan properly. You need to go to the website yeastconnection.com
and if you fill out the candida questionnaire and have candida I would suggest buying Dr. Crooke's The Yeast Connection Book. It will set you straight about candida overgrowth.
I began the diet in March 09 and have lost 30lbs and am taking nystatin tablets and non-prescription antifungals. I have a good holistic MD and he prescribed the nystatin. I feel better now but in the first few months felt really awful, low mood, foggy, extreme fatigue, like I had been hit by a bus. It was the die off symptoms from the candida not being fed sugar, yeast, vinegar or fermented foods.
There is also a fantastic website called Healing Naturally by Bee, she has everything you ever need to know about candida and lots of recipes too!

Good Luck, as I know the struggle of this awful fungus.

Sharon.
