Default Homemade yogurt

I was wondering if anyone has made homemade yogurt, and if they did, would you please post instructions. I am trying to follow the SCD diet because of serious gut problems. I want to make the 24 hour yogurt.

I am looking to make yogurt without the S. themophilus because I seem to react poorly to it. The L.Acidophilus seems to be okay.

thanks,
pauliegirl

Don't know about you but I miss reading my Candida forum every day! What's UP with everyone on here??? People haven't posted in a week (except for you and me!). They must have found the miracle cure and they are not sharing!

On the yogurt, I don't know how to make it myself but you might try googling it.

Good luck! (and just thought I'd post here to see SOME activity!)

I haven't found the miracle cure yet!

I'm very slack, though. Someone bought me a yogurt maker, and I haven't even read the instructions on it to learn how to make it yet.

It's easy, google for recipes. You don't really have to have a yogurt machine but that does make it easier. Some people do it with a heating pad or in an oven with a pilot light.

I know that the milk gets to the right temp in 3:30 in my microwave. I have done the specific carbohydrate diet yogurt. Use whole milk. You'll thank yourself later. I got my starter at a health food store but you can use a spoonful of commercial yogurt just the same. It's good. Do be sure to drain it, and you will get a better consistency. I use just a bit of frozen strawberries or the triple berry mix from Costco. Yummy. I do put in a couple of packets of splenda but stevia would work I'm sure.
