I can't figure this out. Why would anybody assume that? Are we a bunch of idiots?

If you saw what happens in the delivery room, the only question (assuming that the above assumption were true) would be how could any baby survive that? If the internal conditions of the womb were sterile, no baby could possibly survive birth!

That people could justify their paycheck with such drivel is rather condescending and annoying.
