Long distance bicycle touring
Second post on the forum. Woo hoo!
I've been eating LC for 3 weeks now and the pounds are coming off nicely. My exercise of choice and hobby is bicycling. I do a LOT of riding. A 20-30 mile ride is an average day for me. I am currently in induction and can't come close to that yet, but I understand that it's typical. When I go for a long ride, I'm pretty much bonked after 15 miles.
From what I've read, I shouldn't push it early on, and my stamina and strength will come back over time. My question is basically to anyone familiar with endurance sports. Should I try to be out of induction by the time I'm ready for a long tour (in about 2 months) and add carbs (but under 50g/day) or will dietary fat be enough to sustain me 6 hours at a stretch, including bursts of energy needed for hill climbing?
TIA
