I totally believe sleep is essential for normal metabolism (and health). Ever since th begining of sept I have been more sleep deprived (THX clinicals - nursing). I have come down with a cold - which has not happened in YEARS, and every time I do get a cold, it always correlates with recent changes that deprive me of sleep (or stress).
On the food eating front, I do notice my metabolism doesn't work as well as it used to... in that, more often I find myself bottomless and the days afterward I don't compensate quite the way I used to, partially because of hunger. I have gained a little weight but not much, because I'm only eating verylow carb food (<50).
