I have a theory that people really do know it matters but they really don't want to admit it to themselves or anyone else because then they'd have to change their eating habits. I seriously doubt his doctor would approve of his diet, he probably just has no idea of what he's eating because doctors don't ask and even if they do, their patients lie.
