All I know is when it's 20 below in the winter and everyone is in heavy coats, hats and gloves, and I'm sitting around in a T-shirt fanning myself with my "fertility" fan (as I call it), and the sweat is running down my face....it's difficult to blame it on anything BUT menopause; that's no excuse, it's reality for me.

As far as the bat wings go, SO FAR I've escaped that but do not believe those are connected to menopause in any way. However, I do lift weights everyday (light ones) and that may keep the arms in check. But hey, if I develop "bat wings" in time, I'll just count myself lucky and FLY south to visit my family!
