I don't remember much about PPL, but PP is not lower fat. In the book, he doesn't recommend adding a lot of extra fat but he is very much a proponent of allowing the fat that comes with your protein to do its highly important work. Any flavor enhancement that is inherent to a recipe or whatever, should be fat or spice based, but not in terms of slathering on butter, etc.

PP is actually one of the most easily understood explanations of the science underlying the lc plan that I've ever read. It was my introduction to low carb dieting and I read it in 1999. I lost about seventy pounds from mid May to early November. I went from a very tight women's size 16 to a boys 32 jeans. My 14 year old son left his jeans in the hotel room when he flew home from the first leg of his birthday/our anniversary trip. I was 39 and I think that was a spectacular testimony for his plan.
