I can sympathize with being hyperthyroid. It is awful. Also from being hypothyroid, since that happens after they get the thyroid shutdown.
Also... sorry Janet, but please disregard the advice about low carb and thyroid. None of that applies right now in your current hyp erthyroid state when you're purposefully suppressing your thyroid. Just try to be consistent with your diet so the meds will work consistently. Definitely stay gluten free. Sometimes people do go into remission and staying gluten free may up the chances of that happening.
I don't know what the current state of things is with treating hyperthyroid, but when I had it they used radioactive iodine. Is that no longer an option? Of course, I'm assuming you have Graves disease, but perhaps it is something else?
