"Plan for the craving"
On my personal journey, I learned to not buy any convenience foods. Even a jar of jam is hazardous. Hot pockets are doubly hazardous. Much harder to overeat green beans with butter.
The bit about having a preplanned safe snack is key.
Too easy to mix a mini batch of sugar, butter and cocoa powder, a quick brownie batter substitute, to fill a craving for sweets.
