Default Diverticulitis & Yeast Overgrowth

I have diverticulitis. My first attack was almost 2 years ago in November and led to a one week hospial stay. I have had 3 attacks since then, but after beginning Atkins. March, June and Septmeber of this year. Because of the frequency and the length of time from the onset and the second attack, I am now starting to think that the infections (diverticulitis) are a result of yeast overgrowth.

Can I be tested for this or should I just try to eliminate it from my diet to see if this is the culprit? I know I have increased my intake of cheese and nuts since January '04 when I started Atkins.

I will read up on the links posted so far, but any advice from people with similar situations would be greatly appreciated.
