I don't recommend cream cheese for anyone with an intestinal bowel disease. It contains sugar and lactose, both of which feed the bad intestinal bacteria. Many IBD sufferers are also lactose and frucose intolerant. The sugar is half sucrose and half fructose.
I believe some of the sugar is common table sugar added by the manufacturer to make it sweeter and not from the process. Either way it does not matter.
I just received an email for someone doing verywell on my diet program. She ate one shakes made with cream cheese yesterday and another this morning. She went immediately into diarrhea.
Cream cheese is also bad for those with a Candida yeast infection. She just tested clear of Candida so the reaction must have been the sugar or lactose or both. She handles hard cheeses very well, however.
