I did the same thing, ignored the scale and recognized the pleasant result of how my clothes fit or not over time. When I had to replace my pants for those with a smaller waist, it was a good thing. Yes, maybe once a month or so, I'd jump on the scale, but as WereBear notes, weight loss is hardly linear, and if you've increased water or any liquid consumption, you're going to be weighing that as well. This is a process that moves forward and then has plateaus, and then moves forward again and then has plateaus. Staying doggedly consistent works over time.
