please comment on this. if one stay in calorie defecit mode and consumes some fruits, fruits should not add up to insulin resistence.. so fruits should be ok during Aktinks induction...

please share info any might have...

I would say it's a misconception. Unfortunately, doctors who think fructose is o.k. for diabetics, also don't mind prescribing a high-carb diet for diabetic patients.

So the issue is debatable, and there's no hard proof to this clain.

Check Doreen's article on sweetner information:

In addition, people always confuse fructose and fruit juice with fruit itself. They're not the same. Fructose is sugar, and fruit juice is a high glycemic concentrate of fruit minus fiber and minus some nutrients. This helps alot of fad diets and products based on "juicers" as a healthy choice, it's not.

The healthy nutrients in fruits, are found more in abundance in vegetables. And vegetables contain less or no fructose (i.e. less or no sugar), so fruits should be used sparingly compared to vegetables. I hate it when nutritionists lump fruits and vegetables together, they're no the same. That's just IMHO.
