The group are visited by geneticist Dr Giles Yeo who reveals the results of their DNA test. He explains how some of them carry genes making them crave fatty foods and that their genes play a role in their current weight.

This makes me want to bang my head against the wall. As many of us on here know, while calories do play a role in weight, it's not anywhere near the whole story, more like a very small side issue.

Did that geneticist check to see if there was a gene that caused them to crave carbs too? Because if calorie intake plays a role, then consuming "too many" calories of fat daily isn't going to increase your weight any more than the same number of excess calories in carbs - in fact, given the human body's tendency to send excess carb calories directly to fat storage, you'll probably gain far more weight from the carbs, and be hungry for more carbs. On the other hand, if you consume "too many fat calories" in the absence of carbs, you probably won't be hungry for hours... and hours... and hours.

But then we already know that - that's why we're here.
