Default 'No Sugar / No Starch' diet, week 1 results

I started adhering this diet one week ago on saturday the 8th. The rules are as follows:
  • Fewer than 20 net carbs per day.
  • No refined or added natural sugars.
  • no starches.
  • Eat some vegetables each day (this is where all of your carbs should come from)
  • Eat as much meat and eggs as you want - avoiding processed meats (which have to be screened individually for carbs)
  • Eat when you are hungry
  • Stop eating when you are full

I exceeded the carb target a little on the first two days. Once from eating some tomato and olives in a salad, and once from eating too much onion.

Since then, I have been diligent about tracking my carbs and staying below 20.

It is now one week later, so it seems appropriate to post my results so far:

After one week, I have lost 7.2 pounds (from 344.6 to 337.4).

I've heard that rate slows down a bit after two weeks, which is fine - as long as I keep moving in the right direction. No rush though, I'm in it for the long haul. This isn't a diet, it's a way of life. I'm not expecting a silver bullet. Just a path along which hard work will yield results.

It's crazy to think that I'm eating 6 eggs for breakfast every day, and a plate full of meat at night - and losing more weight that I ever could have on any other diet.

My final goal is 155, but there's a lot of milestones in the middle that I'll be excited to reach.

For now, I'm just glad to see positive momentum.
