Over the past month my fbg's and my bg's in general have dropped to "normal", under 90 FBG and the past few days under 100 all the time. This morning my fbg was 76. I took it again because I couldn't believe it. It was 77. This happened after I listened to Miriam Kalamian's talk and resigned myself to my somewhat higher numbers. I have reduced my net carbs from <25 to <20 over the past month. Don't know whether that's what made the differences or just some function of time. Anyway the point of this is that sometimes patience pays off. Of course it helps that I changed meters to one that is said to be more accurate, the Bayer Contour Next. My previous meter, the Nova Max, reads about 10 points higher. Now I think I have the explanation for why my hba1c was lower than what my nova max meter would predict. Patience, an accurate a meter as possible, and scrupulous adherence to low carb are the ingredients that should eventually pay off.
