Ken, I was in a boot for 7 weeks. The first 6 weeks I was not allowed to put any weight on my ankle, the 7th week I was, but only while wearing the boot. After that, the physio had me 'walking' without it. Almost 4 months on, I'm not yet back to normal, but I'm getting there, and at least can now go out for a walk, however slowly
