It's insidious to the point where there's sugar or sweetener in nearly everything. When my wife and daughter started the Whole 30, they were amazed at how much of an effort it was to find products without sugars. I now make all my salad dressings using a carafe with a shaker top. Real easy, and I control the oils, the vinegar or lemon juice, and seasonings, as most of the store-bought stuff is junk with seed oils, sugars, and chemicals. Having this awareness also gets your attention when eating at restaurants. Most restaurants will use canola, soy, or corn oil in salad dressing masquerading as olive oil. Much cheaper!
