Several years ago I found a doctor who put me on metformin for weight loss. My waistline was out of control....I eased into a prescription of 500 3x a day. I followed the diabetic diet strictly and walked an hour a day EVERY single day. I went from a size 20 to a 12 over a 6 month time frame. In that time I survived several high stress (i.e. eating) situations like a divorce, a job change and a move. The only thing that bothered me was diarrhia in the beginning. That went away. I weighed myself every single day as well and I still do today. That really keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Good luck!
